Keith Simpson visits Reepham Primary School to meet Year 5 pupils after they wrote to him about refugees.
The class had been reading about refugees from Afghanistan and Syria and wrote to their MP.
During the visit Keith explained about his life in Parliament and that the Government is spending many millions of pounds helping refugees across the world. They also discussed Brexit, Theresa May and the freedoms that we enjoy in this country compared to others.
One of the students said “He said the government was spending millions to help refugees but it was still a big problem. We learned about refugees’ civil rights, and that people in Afghanistan don’t have the rights we have. We were surprised that he came to visit us. We will watch PMQs in the future.”
